In this entry
Marcus Kade is a Corpo director who commits capital and expects the work to stand up without his constant supervision. He wants capable operators who can make decisions and answer for them. An agreement protects his other commitments, but he also cares whether a supplier will choose to work with him again.
A Lancer has brought parts that could restore a stalled asset. Marcus wants the agreed delivery, while the supplier wants additional time and expense recognized. Paying more can preserve a valuable working relationship. Refusing can protect money already committed to other work.
Neither person has to be lying for the disagreement to become difficult. Marcus operates between the written terms and the conditions that changed after they were signed. The city is small enough that a supplier may appear at his gate again. His decision affects the immediate project and what that person is willing to bring him in the future.
