The city's staple food comes mainly from fields outside the built streets. Growers need seed, water, working equipment and a way to get the harvest into storage. Small growing tunnels support particular crops and young plants, but they can't replace the larger fields. Maintaining access and protecting farm equipment gives nearby Lancers another source of contracts.

Farming depends on timing. A missing part or delayed water delivery can matter more during one stage of a crop than another. Recovered equipment needs servicing, and the harvest needs enough transport and storage when it's ready to move.

The farm belt includes rotation plots and protected growing alongside broader staple fields. Some damaged land remains outside the worked boundary. Local routes and clear access help crews monitor conditions and respond to problems without pretending the countryside is free of servos. Synths and human growers take different roles under their own agreements. Producing food creates demand for repair, transport and security well beyond the field itself.
