Recovered blockchain and associated registry records can identify people, addresses, businesses and former assets. Hash Vault uses them to investigate what survived and where useful material might be found. Families may also discover leads about missing relatives. A historical entry can show that someone lived in a place without proving that they survived the Turning or still live there.

The archives are incomplete. Some records refer to missing files, some are encrypted and others describe property that has since been damaged or occupied by someone else. Staff distinguish an original record from a present claim rather than treating every surviving entry as a complete answer.

Access also matters because personal information can give its holder power over others. The Old World's extensive records supported useful transactions and surveillance. Reconnection could allow distant communities to compare evidence, but residents still have reasons to care about who can read it and what conclusions are drawn from it.
