The city market sells food, repaired clothing, tools and recovered components to people across the city. It connects the farms and workshops to customers who need their work. Prices also tell Lancers what is in short supply. Finding a buyer before a trip can turn an uncertain salvage run into a contract with a clear purpose.

The public stalls are the front of a larger operation. Deliveries need access, perishable goods need suitable storage and customers need to know what they're buying. Insulated food boxes travel between the river landing, Cold Store and individual traders. Repaired equipment arrives from workshops and smaller recovery crews.

The market contains people with very different amounts of bargaining power. Someone who must sell today may accept less than a trader who can hold stock. A rare compatible part can put the seller in the stronger position. The transaction is voluntary, but that doesn't mean every participant has the same range of choices.
