SynthWorks assesses recovered servos, repairs usable machinery and converts suitable units into independent synths. Technicians remove the entire broadcast assembly and clear the hostile programming so the robot can operate locally. Some recoveries are too damaged to restore and supply parts instead. An intact machine is valuable because conversion can return far more working capability than a crate of broken components.
The facility reuses an old industrial building with space for handling, assessment and separate service areas. A recovered servo arrives restrained and inactive. Staff examine its condition before deciding what repairs or conversion work are possible.
An independent synth leaves without the remote command hardware that made the old platform vulnerable. It may later return for maintenance, negotiate a job or work alongside the specialists who converted it. Paying for the recovery or conversion does not give someone ownership of that individual. The work creates useful capability for the city while also creating a new participant who can choose how to use it.
