Divinity was a hacker group opposed to government control of Orbinet, blockchain surveillance and the use of security servos to suppress dissent. Its members planned to destroy one military communications base by turning the servos inside against the facility. They believed the attack would expose the government's vulnerability and demonstrate that power still belonged to ordinary people.

Divinity’s objective

The Servo Virus carried an order to attack other servos and anything with electricity running through it. Divinity intended that destruction to stay inside the chosen base. The operatives expected a delay between installing the virus and the machines acting on it, giving them time to leave.

Their plan depended on physical access to the facility's control hardware. It also depended on an assumption that proved catastrophic: that a destructive instruction introduced into a connected installation could be kept local. Divinity's opposition to centralized power became part of the argument survivors inherited, but so did the consequences of the group's own decisions.
