The Servo Virus spread worldwide through Orbinet in thirty minutes. Connected servos received the order to destroy other servos and powered infrastructure. Attacks began across places that had no connection to Divinity's original target. Thirty minutes describes the spread of the instruction. The collapse of essential services and the loss of human life continued afterward.
Machines received copies while the network was still functioning. As local power failed, other locations were already acting on the same instruction. Cutting one connection could not isolate all the machines that had received it.
The damage varied by place and by the equipment available to each servo. A household unit and a military Ranger had very different capabilities, but both could destroy something important. The order did not select humans as targets. Its effect on the systems keeping them alive was enough to create a global humanitarian catastrophe.
