Independent synths are electrical targets to infected servos just like the infrastructure they help operate. Corpos defend synth colleagues as well as buildings and equipment. A confrontation can therefore put two robots from the same original family on opposite sides. One follows the Turning's stored order; the other is an individual working with the people protecting it.

Removing the broadcast assembly stops a synth receiving the old remote commands. It does not make its body invisible to another machine acting on that command. Independence and physical safety are different problems.

For Corpos, protecting a synth means protecting a colleague who has chosen to work with them. The synth may help defend itself or assist others according to its own abilities and judgment. The encounter reinforces why the city keeps weapons and security available even in developed areas. A community can trust its independent synths while still recognizing the danger posed by unconverted machines outside that relationship.
